I started working with my Floating Support Worker Stacy in September. At this time I was homeless, 27 weeks pregnant and staying with my granny as I had nowhere else to go.
My partner was also homeless and sleeping on his friends’ sofas. We both wanted a place to call home for us and our baby but there was no sign of this happening as we didn’t know who to speak to or how to start the process of being re-housed.
7 weeks on we are now registered with the Housing Executive and have been given keys to our first temporary home… Just in time for Christmas and our baby coming in the next few weeks. I didn’t know where to turn to and what steps to take to get things moving forward but MACS helped us work with the Housing Executive and move into our first home together.
They have even helped us buy a few of the things we needed for our new home. My MACS worker will continue to support us while we get used to living independently and will still offer support while we wait to be re-housed permanently. Thank you so much from us both!
