For the past 3 weeks, our B Confident group has had the pleasure of being joined by Shannon from the Red Cross!
Shannon discussed some topical issues with our young people and generated very interesting conversations… We started off learning about everyday first aid and how to keep safe.
We also discussed the stigma which exists within our society based on stereotypes about refugees, homeless people and of course people experiencing mental health difficulties.
Finally, Shannon had our young people dress up and roleplay various types of conflicts which can arise in our personal lives and our communities. Not only did we learn skills for resolving conflict but it seems we have some budding actors and actresses in our midst! We’ve learned a lot from these sessions and it’s been great fun too! We would like to thank Shannon for joining us and we look forward to having her back again soon!
